I am a wife, mother of seven, and grandmother of three who enjoys taking care of her family and others, crocheting, summer, and reading. My desire to be a health care professional began as a small child. I cannot remember a time when I was not passionate about caring for others. This passion translated into a lifelong love of nursing and gave me the drive to achieve my advanced practice nursing degree. I am proud of the goals I have achieved and the opportunities I have experienced thus far. During my nursing career, I have had the pleasure of working in many areas of nursing including intensive care, intermediate nursing facilities, long-term acute care, home health, hospice, case management, outpatient physician office, and as an educator.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Centers College of Nursing in 2016 with my Master's degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Clinical Nurse Specialist. This program included areas of study around education, current evidence-based practices, gerontology, disease states, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and treatments. My professional goals are to expand and challenge myself by assisting others with their medical care, educating future healthcare professionals, and continuing to learn from colleagues with grace and enthusiasm. After 20 years of nursing, I am still excited to witness the patience, understanding, caring, and empathy that is expressed every day from those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
