Urgent Care

Sudden/Urgent Illness or Injury

Urgent Care Medicine (UCM) is defined as immediate medical services as outpatient care for the treatment of acute and chronic illness and/or injury that requires a broad comprehensive wealth of knowledge to provide. UCM is complex and requires communication and collaboration between urgent care medicine physicians, patients, families and the primary care providers.

Urgent care is not meant to replace a primary care provider. UMC is a convenient option when illness strikes outside regular hours and as an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for sudden urgent illnesses or injuries requiring prompt attention.
