Primary Care

Day-to-Day Healthcare

Primary care is defined as a service that is provided by physicians or advanced-practice providers who are specifically trained and skilled in comprehensive first contact and continuing care of patients with any undiagnosed sign, symptom or health concern. Primary care services include diagnosing, health promotion, disease prevention, maintenance, education and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Family physicians, along with many pediatricians and internists, practice primary care.

The aim of primary care is to provide patients with a broad spectrum of preventive and curative care over a period of time, coordination of all aspects of care the patient receives and collaboration between all providers that allows patients to receive the best overall care.
